Anyway, today my mother told me I needed to go through my wardrobe as there was so much random stuff that I used to hold on to and she said is was time to discard of anything no longer needed for safe keeping.
As a child/teen I was known to keep EVERYTHING, literally everything that I was given, from birthday cards to funny hand written letters from my peers at school- I had this fantasy that I would be super famous one day and if I died all these random things would be relevant.
Take a look at the few things I found in my wardrobe (note: there was a whole lot more and for that I am truly embarrassed)
- Cool notebooks
Ft. My own name pad. HSM notebook, Minnie Mouse and some cute bee's hugging
I'm not gonna lie, I was known for my cool notebooks back in the day. The High School Musical notebook was purchased somewhere between Year 9 and Year 10 which is a little embarrassing but I genuinely was obsessed with Zac Efron and I figured I could morph into Vanessa Hudgens one day.
- The Annual Zac Efron HARDCOVER, 2009
Check out dat free calendar, damn straight I hung it up
This is kinda embarrassing considering in 2009 I was year 12 (around 17 years old) and I blatantly purchased it with my own money. My obsession w Zac was (kinda still is) crazy.
-The Scoobie Chain
A range of colours and designs by Paige AKA. Scoobie Queen
So I obviously didn't get out much in Year 6, instead I chose to create these awesome key chains. What is better than one scoobie? A WHOLE CHAIN OF DAMN SCOOBIES. Everyone who was anyone could make scoobies, and yes you did take a packet to school to make even more during lunch time.
-The Homemade CD
LOL LOL LOL
There is so much that is so wrong about this whole thing.
Number 1- The title, i'm sorry but couldn't I have been a little more creative and come up with something a little better than 'My Coolest Songs'
Number 2- THE SONGS! um could the genres clash any more? Why on earth is 'Because I got high' both numbers 1 and 2? did I even know what getting high was? NO, NO I DIDN'T. 'Let's All Get Drunk' I don't even remember that song, and how about no Paige, you were probably 10 when you made this CD and you did not get drunk, again probably didn't even know the meaning of the word.
Number 3- Names of songs. 'Who Put The Dogs Out' come on Paige, did you even listen to the lyrics of the song? they literally sing the name of the title over and over again. Big clue: It's let, who LET the dogs out. Those dogs were not put anywhere.
Number 4- The entire CD. The rookie job of making my own CD, the faded musical notes in the background (I hope that was just an option and I didn't actually design that cover) The mix of Afroman, Huey Lewis, Baha Men, Atomic Kitten, Nelly Furtado, Five and of course Shaggy. Half of those songs were age appropriate, this CD needed a PG sign in the corner at least.
Good effort on the fact I put the length of the songs though- very professional.
-The surfer beads.
A small selection of my finest surfer necklaces
You could never have enough of the old surfer beads. A trip to the Gold Coast will leave you with a nice range, as well as one or two from Fiji. Kudos Paige, braces and these lush necklaces would have been a fab combo.
-The Embryo
Model of an embryo, made with love by yours truly
Why did I keep this? I made it in my first year of uni. Am I going to need this ever? no. I think I kept i because I felt like it made me smart.
Note: I still didn't throw it away
-The tags and ticket stumps
A very important range of labels
If you look closely you can see that in this box was all very important labels and packaging fem very important items.
^ That was a lie, why on earth did I keep any of it?!
Yes thats the packaging from a Betty Boop mug, oh and a Bendon Bra tag (I must have been a proud owner) Oh yeah glad I kept those Waikato Rugby tickets, what a great memory (did I ever watch the rugby? no, I went purely because it was like the social event of the week) and then there's just some receipts from things I do not care about or even remember. Gr8 work Paige, that can all go in the trash now.
-The CD collection
Ft. Blue, Kelly Rowland, Five, Steps, Boyzone, SClub7, Britney, Jessica Simpson and ElemenoP
WHERE IS MY VENGABOYS CD? THE ONE THING I WOULD STILL WANT TODAY AND I DIDN'T KEEP IT. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME?
Okay S Club 7 is still a goodie, and of course Brit's old record is a keeper, but the Vengaboys were a treat and a half. I think this selection would have been standard for my time, I don't know how many girls my age back then would have had the ElemenoP CD but ya know, gotta support that NZ music.
So now you have gotten to see inside the old Paige's wardrobe and what an embarrassment to society I was, you can know that I have since grown up and my taste in celebs and music has matured. (Lol jk, I love Harreh Stiles and I can still sing every word to SClubParty and Shaggy 'It Wasn't Me' is probably under my top most played in iTunes.
Love it, h8 it, I know ya'll would dance to Shaggy and S Club ANY DAY.
